Adbusters Media Foundation is a Canadian non-profit organization founded in 1989 by Kalle Lasn and Bill Schmalz in Vancouver. Adbusters describes itself as "a global network of artists, activists, writers, pranksters, students, educators and entrepreneurs who want to advance the new movement of information age social activists."
Openly anti-capitalist, he publishes Adbusters, a committed, ad-free magazine supported solely by readers.

Manifesto:
"We are an international collective of activists, artists, writers, designers, musicians, philosophers, poets, punks and wild hearts.
Join us to defeat Big Tech. Clean up the toxic areas of our mental environment. Reverse the upward flow of wealth. Punish any company that betrays public trust. Holding corrupt politicians accountable. It awakens a reckless and complacent culture. Fight the psychological conquest of the all-seeing advertising surveillance industry. Unfollow and retweet. . . to start thinking, speaking and acting for ourselves"

ISSUE 161
The end of the planet is upon us, hope lies in the adoption of few ideas so fundamental, so profound that a healthy and sustainable future is unthinkable without them.
But if we fail to hatch a great new narrative for humanity, we will travel along the highway to hell, moving inexorably towards a long dark age from which we may never recover.
We are having a taste of this right now. The erosion of truth, the collapse of democracy, the fraying of sanity, the spread of despotism and the cruelty of power-is-right, all highlighted by an ecological collapse of existential proportions.
The rumblings of optimism, on the other hand, are few. But they are powerful. If we want to have a chance to stave off the worst, it's up to us to pay attention to them.
In this explosive dark versus light issue, we expose twin visions of what's to come.
