Straddling the worlds of visual art and fashion, Middle Plane is a very particular art magazine, with an ever-changing format, which presents in each issue a different artist through a limited corpus of works to collect.
Issue 3
The third issue of Middle Plane is produced in collaboration with the artist Maggi Hambling, who creates a dialogue between art and fashion in his works.
This issue is entirely photographic (a text written only in the opening editorial), created as a sort of visual interview with a series of photos presented in a non-linear format that throws different lights on the artist. Sometimes generous and funny, others intimidating and confrontational.
The entire magazine has a very high conceptual content, a real monograph on Maggi Hambling that shows every side, passion, desire and trend. Art and fashion come together in a whimsical compendium on his inclinations.
Some of the main contributors to this issue: Juergen Teller, Sam Rock, Isabelle Wenzel, Paul Kooiker, Katie Burnett, James Cahill, Marlborough Gallery.
