Nataal is an independent semi-annual that in its 336 pages explores African art and culture becoming a space for positive dialogue where diversified narratives intersect. This large-format magazine is a showcase for contemporary artists whose work is shaping African creativity around the world.
Not just a magazine, Nataal is a London-based media brand founded in 2015 by actor and director Alassane Sy, creative director Sara Hemming and editorial director Helen Jennings. The print magazine was born in 2018.

The third issue of Nataal sees explores the concept of "beauty" by asking creatives from all over the world to define what beauty is for them. Whether it's an attitude, a point of view, a sense of inner confidence, an expression of identity or simply the power that comes with a red lipstick, beauty can be experienced in a myriad of ways.
This issue is also a special collaboration with the Victoria & Albert Museum in London for the exhibition Africa Fashion which traces the style on the continent from the era of independence to the present day. The final section of the magazine features some of the foremost next generation designers, photographers and artists shaping African creativity
