Nea is everything you don't expect from a magazine, an experience that goes beyond and surpasses the very concept of a magazine.
An anachronism of form that is accompanied by contemporary contents, artistic reflections on the relationship between written word and photography, on a changing society that needs to distance itself from the digital and regain possession of the analogue of paper and the awareness that the physical medium brings with it. self, able to dissect, to reflect, to go in depth.
Nea is an Italian project that deals with arts, languages and thoughts, a research work that wants opening new windows on contemporaneity, answering the most urgent questions about the present, building bridges towards the future.
Each number is extremely changeable in form and substance but gives a good idea of the very Italian character, melancholic, full of thought and absolutely Italian craftsmanship. Each piece is produced with meticulous care.
ISSUE 1 - FALDONE - Ghosts on paper
After the number zero, which I had chosen the form of loose sheets linked together by staples, the number one adopts the shape of a real folder, from which it also takes its title.
This edition consists of three storytelling works on three different original photographic projects and archival collections of antique photographs.
The magazine is entirely handmade, including the insertion of the sheets in the folders.
The texts, as in number 0, are reproductions of a real print a They collaborated, in addition to the Nea Magazine Storytelling Studio coordinated by Riccardo S. D'Ercole, Gilles Mercier and Veronica Barbato.
The magazine is printed by Tipografia Mistero on 150 gr Lenza paper and is handmade by our team, with inserts on the “Notturno” cover and on dividers for folders typed with analog typewriters.
Manual ring binding.
