Rave Zine, launched in 2019 by photographer Peter Carter and stylist Flo Arnold, conveys the hedonistic spirit of British rave culture. The magazine was born in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the Second Summer of Love, when acid house music transformed London's youth culture and gave birth to the rave scene in 1988 and 1989.
The purpose of the magazine is to give space to the next generation of photographers and stylists through over 200 pages of fashion images and personal works imbued with the hedonistic attitude of the rave and its sense of community.
”Rave was founded to show our favorite photographers, stylists and artists to present their work, which nowadays, and particularly with personal projects, might otherwise only exist on digital platforms. It's also about the reinvention of a sense of community for our peers, just like a rave in the literal sense, which we feel is something worth celebrating..”
The second issue of RAVE features an unmistakable mix of reportage photography alongside fashion editorials, from both the best new creative talents and archival work.
