Slanted is a semi-annual independent magazine that deals with design, graphics and typography, exploring news and developments at an international level.
This award-winning magazine was not born on paper, but took its first steps on the web, with a blog founded in 2004 by Lars Harmsen and Julia Kahl. Its pages, with in-depth interventions, illustrations and photos around a different theme for each issue, invite you to reflect and open a debate not only on the proposed theme, but on the graphics in general.

ISSUE n.37 - Artificial Intelligence
What is the impact of artificial intelligence on design and how can these technologies change our lives?
Artificial intelligence (A.I.), in addition to being a too publicized watchword in all sectors (to which the world of design is no exception), has become a reality. Let's discuss the impact of A.I. and its subsets - machine and deep learning, virtual and augmented reality - and how these technologies can completely change our lives, jobs and social relationships.
We live in times when decisions about what we want are no longer in our control. While we believe we are free (at least in our Western world), algorithms dictate our lives, hopes and dreams. We are parents and children, gods and slaves to the technology we have invented.
We have found a few ways to take this edition of Slanted to another dimension, starting with each cover being unique! It was printed for every cover of this edition A different image of CROSSLUCID, between portrait, still life and expressionist topography, foreign to our understanding of what is human, natural, artificial and digital.
More than ever this number has made us adventurers: looking with doubtful eyes at this new world of computation, numbers and transhumanism, where (OMG!) Machines are in many areas smarter than us and, at times, even codified with ethical standards. and higher morals than we will ever have.
