"A common magazine for bibliophiles", is how the British editors of The Second Shelf define this independent magazine born in late 2018 thanks to a successful campaign on Kickstarter and reached its second issue in autumn 2019, available on Frab's.
The declared objective is to give value to the literature made by women, to the words written in the feminine by women of value in the literary field that often in the centuries of literature history have been bound to marginal roles in this field.
The magazine is pure poetry for book lovers, and is entirely composed of interviews, reviews, catalogs and book stories written by women of all ages, from our days to antiquity.
What strikes you in a literature magazine is the elegance of the object, all in all small, but with a very delicate photograph and a reassuring touch like the pages of a good book.
Behind the project of The Second Shelf is an independent London bookshop run and run by women, which you can see here.
