Toiletpaper is an art magazine conceived and produced by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, born from the obsession they both have for images.
The magazine contains no text; each image can be understood as a real work of art that comes from the idea of an artist and is then materialized on papers thanks to the complex work of the editorial team.
Born in June 2010, Toiletpaper has created a world and a style that is now very recognizable, which shows ambiguous, sometimes disturbing and crude, surreal, twisted and colorful narratives, combining the styles of vernacular and commercial photography.
The result is a publication that is itself a work of art, which through its accessible form of magazine and its wide circulation challenges the limits of the economy of contemporary art.
In short, Toiletpaper is pure provocation.
