In almost every picture is a series of photo books by Dutch photographer Erik Kessels.
Inside them, the lives of entire families or people are reconstructed and told in a literal way only thanks to the sequence of images.
The particularity? No photos are taken on purpose: they are made entirely with vintage photos found or specially selected.
Erik Kessels is one of the masters of vernacular photography, whose co-author in this issue is the Italian photographer Sergio Smerieri.
Why did we start from number 17? Because we had met Carlo and Luciana a couple of years before this book, precisely in Vignola (MO), where the photographer Sergio Smerieri had invited us into his studio and right here we exchanged some vintage photos including those of the two spouses portrayed in number 17.
Finding them after two years in this book was surprising. Sergio and Erik
