Jugular is a magazine born in Brooklyn (NY) in 2018 from an artistic idea by Max Zambelli, an internationally renowned photographer and interior designer.
With the desire to create something exclusive in the world of photography that would give substance and a non-trivial physical support to his photographic works, Zambelli realizes an editorial project that dares to create and enhances the content with
Photography runs along the lines of fashion and design, with in-depth editorials by various authors.
Issue 3 of Jugular available on Frab's is titled "There are no more words" and is a real bomb in the physicality of the object.
The authors immediately hit the spot by attaching a plastic bag containing red liquid similar to blood inside which Jugular's letters float to the rigid cardboard cover with canvas rib. The somewhat splatter cover resumes by taking up one of the artistic projects in this issue of the magazine entitled, precisely, Blood. An extraordinary welcome that opens the doors to equally persevering whimsy.
Joined pages that have to be cut out to be discovered and read, games of cards and formats, inserts and a truly excellent print quality create an artistically exciting interweaving to see, touch and read.
Taking up the title, this issue presents the photographic works of artists whose intent is precisely to give the maximum possible prominence to photography and amaze by limiting the use of the word. The reader is asked to freely choose to interact with the magazine. Those who read the magazine must immerse themselves completely in the stories, so much so that the texts and all the articles are placed at the end of each editorial, hidden in a Japanese binding.
