The Magazine for Sharp Dressing, Drinking, Dining, Travel & Design
Konfekt is the new and elegant publication, born by the Monocle editors in December 2020.
Among its pages we find the latest trends in fashion, the best places to drink, eat and travel from Central Europe and beyond. On a quarterly basis, it also offers news reports, luxury news and little-known destinations to visit.
By the senior editor of Monocle, Sophie Grove, with Marcela Palek as syle director, among the pages of Konfekt we find the contributions of important journalists, thinkers and photographers from Germany, Switzerland, France and beyond.
Number of pages: 210
Konfekt was born to be, on paper, the person you want to see, the friend who knows the difference between discussion and comparison and who knows how to cook spontaneously and chat with a smile on his lips and a good glass of wine in his hand. In the opening editorial, the creators tell how the idea of launching it was born far from the business tables, or rather from a chat between Tyler Brulé and Marcela Palek, Style Director of Monocle, at an informal dinner at the end of summer.
Konfekt is Monocle's "sister" magazine, dedicated to the elegant, intelligent and stylish woman, attentive to healthy vices such as good wine, and to virtues. Within this first issue, the editors meet Sissel Toolas, a Norwegian artist at her home in Berlin; in Rome they enter the kitchen of fashion designer Stella Jean with whom they retrace a tumultuous year in the world of fashion. In addition to these, the magazine enters other private houses selected from those who have been able to collect objects of style and beauty for a lifetime.
The magazine then leaves Europe to enter the Coptic Christmas of a family in Alexandria in Egypt and discover its flavors, culture and customs.
Despite being a high-circulation publishing product, an interesting mix of coated and opaque papers makes it a fine magazine, in line with the high profile of the reader it wishes to have.
