Graphic project is the international graphics magazine published by Aiap, the Italian association for visual communication design. The magazine, founded in 2003, was directed until 2011 by Alberto Lecaldano, from 2012 to 2014 by Riccardo Falcinelli and Silvia Sfligiotti, from 2015 to 2017 by Silvia Sfligiotti and Davide Fornari. In December 2017 the direction was entrusted to Jonathan Pierini and Gianluca Camillini.
Always a point of reference for the culture of visual communication project in Italy, since 2012 it has been fully translated into English.
The new «Graphic Design» offers a critical look at graphic and visual culture, through a narrative by fragments. It proposes associations between articles based on links of different nature that enhance transdisciplinary, historical and contemporary considerations. A multiple gaze, which ranges from the very far to the very near, through a re-proposition of the real that seeks to capture wide-ranging aspects, now specialized issues. The belief is that the observation of visual manifestations, whether they are artifacts or representations of things, as well as the graphic-visual production, can make a necessary contribution to today's cultural debate.
The types of interventions are also heterogeneous, including visual materials, essays and interviews. Each issue is a narrative excursus that explores the magazine's storytelling possibilities.

ISSUE # 36 - Sacred
This number comes from two wills. On the one hand, presenting cases that are consciously placed in areas commonly understood as profane - we could even say worldly - to observe how, through a wise image project, they have managed to define universes of value and offer canons for lay life. On the other hand, uncovering the possibilities of language by dwelling in particular on the possibility of profaning it, violating the rules on which it is based, nullifying its sacred character, infecting it with spurious elements, misrepresenting it with its opposite.
We hope that this number is also for you, as it was for us, an invitation to recognize the potential that resides in the planned or spontaneous profanation of narrative codes, providing reflections and practicable indications. We are convinced of the urgency of this issue, because a new ecology of the body cannot be separated from a new ecology of communication.
